The Personnel Section is responsible for recruiting employee prospects. Once hired, the section utilizes various resources to properly educate new personnel and re-educate current employees.
Responsibilities of personnel assigned to this section are to assist with entrance exams, interview applicants and to complete background investigations, polygraph examinations and psychological testing of prospective employees.

Officers undergo training monthly ranging from crowd control to how to deal with victims of crime.
The Training Section is responsible for orientation of new employees within the department in addition to providing in-house education for officers at a schedule of seven hours per each 28-day work cycle.
Each officer is mandated by Florida Police Standards to obtain 40 hours of advanced training annually and it is the responsibility of the Training Section to ensure this is completed.
